Mathematics and Logical Thinking (MALT)
When we hear the word puzzle, many of us think of Sudoku. But did you know there are dozens of other puzzles that can make children sharper, quicker, more creative and expert problem solvers?
The DAV – Mathematics and logical thinking (MALT) Program is not just about numbers and formulas — they are about learning to think differently, crack problems and find smart solutions. These skills make children sharper in academics, improve lateral thinking and also prepare them for bigger challenges like competitive exams (JEE, NEET and beyond) in the future.
What makes MALT exciting?
Instead of memorizing formulas, students will:
Solve puzzles and riddles that sharpen their mind.
Explore out-of-the-box problems that test creativity.
Preparation support for the IITM Pravartak Out of the Box Thinking (OOBT) Exam.
Learn through games, activities, and challenges.
Build confidence in both concepts and logical reasoning
Puzzle Types Students Will Explore
Sudoku & Number Puzzles – Build number sense and pattern recognition.
Spoke Puzzles – Radial puzzles where numbers or clues are arranged like wheel spokes, challenging kids to find hidden patterns.
Logic Puzzles – Solve mysteries
Word & Riddle Puzzles – Crosswords, code-breaking, and lateral thinking questions.
Nanogram Puzzles
Loop the Loop (Slitherlink) – Connect dots to form a single loop without crossing lines, a fantastic test of logic and patience.
Magic Squares & Cross Sums – Fill grids so rows and columns match target numbers.
Tangrams & Visual Puzzles – Arrange shapes to create pictures and patterns.
Fine tuning – Problem solving
