The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most competitive exams in India, serving as the gateway to prestigious institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JEE Main is the first level of the exam (conducted by National Testing Agency), and the top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify in it are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Every year, nearly 12–13 lakh students register for JEE Main, but only about 2.5 lakh qualify to attempt JEE Advanced. In contrast, the total number of seats available across IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs combined is only around 60,000. This creates an intense ratio of nearly 1 seat for every 200 aspirants, making JEE not just a test of knowledge but also of consistency, problem-solving ability, and perseverance
To succeed, aspirants must build strong fundamentals in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with a focus on concept clarity and regular practice. Continuous self-evaluation, along with problem-solving under exam-like conditions, plays a crucial role in cracking both JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
A ‘DAV Integrated Entrance Test (DIET)‘ is conducted in the month of Oct / Nov every year for Class X students
The announcement for the DAV ‘Selection Test’ will be released on our website about a month earlier.
The ‘DAV Integrated Entrance Test (DIET)‘ is a three-hour exam (MCQ type) based on Class IX and X CBSE portions. The subjects tested are Physics, Chemistry, Biology for NEET students and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for IIT-JEE students. (Students can also opt to write all 4 papers)
Open to Non-DAV students – All students studying in Class X (DAV or any other school) are eligible to write the Entrance exam and
go through the selection process.
The admissions to various institutes are coordinated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), which allocates seats based on the candidates’ ranks in JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
