The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a national competitive examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the purpose of selecting candidates to the various posts of Civil Services of the Government of India. This examination spanning over a year is conducted in three phases:
Preliminary Examination
Mains Examination
Interview
DAV conducts preparatory classes for students thereby enabling them with a head start in the Civil Services journey.
The classes include intense writing practice and discussions on National, International, Social, Environmental and Educational subjects.
The UPSC CSE examination is conducted for recruitment to the various services and posts towards the functioning of the Indian government. These services are divided into:
Group A Services: Group A services are considered to be the highest-ranking civil services in India that includes the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and more. Officers in Group A services hold pivotal positions in the administration and policymaking.
All India Services (AIS): Consisting of two key services, the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), the officers who are assigned to various states and union territories and play significant roles in state-level administration. They are also part of Group A Services.
Group B Services: It encompasses various positions, including those in the Central Secretariat Service (CSS), Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service, Railway Board Secretariat Service, and more. The officers play crucial supporting roles in the functioning of government departments.
